DETAILED ITINERARY
DAY 1 : HANOI - BABE
We will pick you up from your hotel at 07:30 AM and then hit the road northeast towards Ba Be National Park. Lunch will be had in a restaurant in a village on the way, and then our route will take us up through the mountains and tea plantations to Ba Be Lake, an amazing green lake in the middle of a natural green forest.
You will then travel to the Tay village of Pac Ngoi, known for its beautiful stilt houses and friendly population of Tay people, who make their living by fishing in the stunning Ba Be lakes and farming. You will stay in the homestay of a local family here, enjoying their wonderful hospitality.
In the afternoon, you will have some time to explore the beautiful surroundings. You will then enter Hua Ma Cave, which features thousands of stalactites and columns. You may also wish to take a walk around Pac Ngoi village or simply relax in the peaceful surroundings while enjoying the views.
DAY 2 : BABE - HANOI
After enjoying breakfast at your homestay, check out and begin your day with a short walk to the quay where you'll board a boat for a scenic cruise around Ba Be Lake.
Relax on board as you glide across the tranquil waters of Ba Be Lake. Keep an eye out for local wildlife, and if the weather permits, you can take a refreshing swim in the lake’s cool, clean waters. As you continue down the Nang River, admire the surrounding karst formations draped with wild vegetation, home to a variety of birds and other creatures. Marvel at the colorful butterflies fluttering above or listen to the birds' soothing melodies.
Your boat trip will stop at Puong Cave, where you can explore its impressive stalactites and stalagmites, formed by the river's erosion of the karst landscape. Be sure to look out for the cave’s large bat colony, which numbers in the thousands.
After your lake and cave exploration, enjoy a scenic drive back to Hanoi, with a stop for a delicious lunch at a local restaurant along the way.
Arrive back in Hanoi and be dropped off at your hotel, marking the end of your adventure at Ba Be Lake.
