DETAILED ITINERARY
DAY 1: HANOI – MU CANG CHAI
Your adventure begins with an 8:00 AM departure from your hotel in Hanoi. As you leave behind the bustling streets of the capital, enjoy serene views of the countryside as you head northwest toward Yen Bai Province.
Around midday, we'll stop at a local restaurant for a delicious lunch, allowing you to savor some traditional Vietnamese cuisine.
In the afternoon, take advantage of scenic photo opportunities at Khau Pha Pass, one of the highest mountain passes in Vietnam. Next, visit a picturesque viewpoint in Che Cu Nha, where you can admire stunning panoramas of the terraced rice fields.
By late afternoon, we’ll arrive at your accommodation, where you'll have time to check in and unwind for the rest of the day.
Choose between two comfortable options for your stay:
Homestay: Experience authentic local culture by staying in a traditional stilt house.
Bungalow: Opt for a cozy and relaxed stay at Mu Cang Chai Eco-lodge for added comfort.
DAY 2: MU CANG CHAI TREK
At 8:30 AM, after breakfast, you’ll be transferred to the starting point for a full-day trek through the heart of Vietnam's national rice terrace heritage. The trek will cover approximately 10 km, beginning in Che Cu Nha commune and concluding in La Pan Tan commune. Prepare to be awed by the breathtaking views of Mu Cang Chai's famous rice terraces at every turn.
As you make your way along the trail, you’ll pass through several H’mong hill tribe villages. This is a wonderful opportunity to engage with the locals, learning about their unique daily life and rich cultural traditions.
A picnic lunch will be provided, allowing you to enjoy a meal amidst the stunning natural beauty surrounding you.
Around 4:00 PM, a private vehicle will pick you up and return you to your accommodation, where you'll spend your second night.
You have the option to stay one night at the lodge and the other at a local homestay. Please let our travel specialist know your preference when booking to tailor your experience!
DAY 3: MU CANG CHAI - HANOI
After breakfast and packing up, you'll begin your journey back to Hanoi. On the way, we'll make a stop at Tu Le, where you'll take a short walk through the serene Tu Le Valley. While it may not match the grandeur of Mu Cang Chai, the valley offers a peaceful and scenic atmosphere, perfect for a relaxing activity on your last day.
Lunch will be enjoyed at a local restaurant along the route, giving you a chance to savor some regional flavors one last time.
The remainder of the afternoon will be spent driving back to Hanoi, passing through familiar landscapes that you may have come to love.
