DETAILED ITINERARY
DAY 1: HANOI - NGHIA LO
You will be picked up from your hotel in Hanoi at 8:00 AM by your private tour guide and driver. Leaving behind the hustle and bustle of the city, you’ll journey northwest towards Yen Bai province, soaking in the peaceful countryside views along the way.
Arrive in Nghia Lo town early in the afternoon and check into a cozy homestay nestled in a tranquil village near Nghia Lo. Enjoy a traditional lunch and take time to rest in the authentic stilt house.
In the afternoon, set off on a bicycling tour to explore the daily life of the local ethnic community. You'll be surrounded by the stunning scenery of villages, rice fields, and mountains.
End your day with a delightful dinner and an overnight stay at the homestay.
DAY 2: NGHIA LO - TU LE - MU CANG CHAI
After breakfast, bid farewell to your host family and set off for Tu Le town, a charming little town nestled in a picturesque valley at the foot of Khau Pha Pass. Upon arrival, step out of the vehicle and embark on a soft morning trek through the valley, visiting nearby villages. Take your time to capture stunning photographs and interact with the local people. After a couple of hours, return to the town for lunch at a local restaurant.
In the afternoon, your journey continues as you drive up the breathtaking Khau Pha Pass, famous for its winding roads and magnificent terraced rice paddies. The view over the valley from the pass is spectacular, especially during the rice harvest season.
Later in the afternoon, enjoy another trek, this time to Lim Mong village, lasting between 2 and 3 hours. Along the way to Mu Cang Chai, you’ll stop at two more iconic viewpoints: the Parachuting Point and the Shoe Terrace, perfect spots for more photos. Tonight, you'll rest at another welcoming homestay.
DAY 3: MU CANG CHAI TREK - TU LE
This morning, you'll be transferred to Che Cu Nha Commune, the starting point for your trek. The trek covers approximately 12 km on dirt paths, taking you through the breathtaking landscapes to La Pan Tan Commune. This area, with its stunning terraced rice fields, offers an unforgettable experience and is a highlight of your Vietnam trip. Along the way, you’ll also visit several H'mong ethnic villages, where you can observe local life.
At the end of your trek, your private vehicle will pick you up and transfer you to Ngoc Chien Valley, about an hour away. Here, you'll visit a unique hot spring where the ethnic Thai people still practice their traditional custom of naked bathing. After observing the community bath, you’ll have the opportunity to relax and enjoy a warm bath at a nearby family's place.
Following this refreshing experience, you'll continue your journey to Mu Cang Chai's Ecolodge, where you'll have dinner and spend the night at the lodge.
DAY 4: TU LE - HANOI
Take your time this morning to enjoy breakfast at the lodge, and check out of your room by 9:00 AM. You will then begin the 7-hour drive back to Hanoi, passing through beautiful countryside landscapes.
On the way, you’ll stop for lunch at a local restaurant to break up the journey. Expect to arrive at your hotel in Hanoi between 5:00 PM and 5:30 PM.
Once you check back into your hotel, take some time to refresh and relax before spending the night in Hanoi.
DAY 5: HANOI - HALONG BAY
In the morning, you'll be picked up from your hotel in Hanoi and driven to Halong Bay. Upon arrival at the pier in Halong City, you'll board your cruise ship. As the boat sails through the mesmerizing limestone karsts and crystal-clear waters of the bay, a delicious lunch will be served on board, allowing you to enjoy the stunning scenery as you cruise.
You'll have the chance to explore a fascinating cave during a guided tour, where impressive rock formations await. In the afternoon, you can choose to swim, kayak, or simply relax on the sun deck while taking in the beauty of Halong Bay.
As the sun sets, savor a delectable dinner on the boat, surrounded by breathtaking views. You’ll spend the night on the cruise ship, enjoying the peaceful and serene atmosphere of Halong Bay.
DAY 6: HALONG BAY - HANOI
Wake up early to witness the captivating sunrise over Halong Bay, a truly magical sight. Start your day with a Tai Chi session on the sundeck, rejuvenating both body and mind in the tranquil morning air. Afterward, enjoy a hearty breakfast as the cruise continues, exploring more of Halong Bay’s hidden treasures and stunning landscapes.
A delicious brunch will be served on board as the boat slowly makes its way back to the pier. Once you disembark, you'll be transferred back to Hanoi, arriving in the afternoon. You’ll be dropped off at your hotel, bringing your unforgettable Halong Bay experience to a close.
