DETAILED ITINERARY

DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN DONG HOI (QUANG BINH) & PHONG NHA CAVES

Arrive in Dong Hoi, the capital of Quang Binh Province, known for its natural beauty and proximity to Phong Nha-Kẻ Bàng National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site. This day will be dedicated to exploring some of the most spectacular caves in Vietnam.

Take a boat trip along the Son River to reach the Phong Nha Cave, famous for its breathtaking limestone formations.

Visit one of the longest dry caves in Asia, a magnificent underground world filled with stalactites and stalagmites.

Dark Cave (optional): If you're feeling adventurous, visit this cave, where you can kayak, zip-line, and swim through the dark tunnels.

Overnight: Hotel in Dong Hoi or Phong Nha.

DAY 2: QUANG TRI & VINH MOC TUNNELS

Today, head south to Quang Tri, a province known for its historical significance during the Vietnam War. You’ll visit war-related sites and learn about the resilience of the people who lived here.

Vinh Moc Tunnels: A remarkable underground system used by the locals during the war. Explore the tunnel network, including rooms, wells, and escape routes.

Quang Tri Citadel: A historical site that was heavily bombed during the war, now a symbol of resilience.

Cua Tung Beach (optional): Relax at this peaceful beach, known for its scenic beauty and quiet atmosphere.

DAY 3: TRAVEL TO HUE – THE IMPERIAL CITY

Depart from Quang Tri and travel to Hue, the former imperial capital of Vietnam. Hue is known for its rich cultural heritage, including magnificent palaces, temples, and tombs.

Imperial City (The Citadel): Visit the UNESCO-listed Imperial City, a grand complex of palaces, temples, and gardens that once served as the seat of the Nguyen dynasty.

Thien Mu Pagoda: Visit this historic pagoda overlooking the Perfume River, one of Hue’s most iconic landmarks.

DAY 4: HUE – TOMBS OF THE EMPERORS

Today, immerse yourself in the history of the Nguyen emperors as you explore their tombs, which are scattered around the outskirts of Hue. These tombs are not only historically significant but are also beautiful architectural sites set in lush landscapes.

Tomb of Minh Mang: A majestic tomb with serene landscapes, pagodas, and lakes.

Tomb of Khai Dinh: Known for its intricate design and combination of Vietnamese and Western architectural styles.

Tomb of Tu Duc: A peaceful tomb with a large lake, gardens, and temples dedicated to the former emperor.

DAY 5: TRAVEL TO DA NANG & MARBLE MOUNTAINS

Today, you will travel to Da Nang, a bustling city on Vietnam’s central coast, offering a blend of modernity and nature. Along the way, you’ll visit the Marble Mountains, a stunning cluster of five limestone peaks that are home to caves, pagodas, and a breathtaking view of the surrounding area.

Marble Mountains: Climb to the top of the mountains for panoramic views of Da Nang and the coastline. Explore the caves, pagodas, and Buddhist shrines that dot the mountainside.

My Khe Beach: Relax on this beautiful beach, often referred to as one of the most picturesque beaches in Vietnam.

Han River Bridge: Admire the city’s famous bridge, which lights up beautifully at night.

DAY 6: DA NANG – HOI AN

On Day 6, you’ll travel to Hoi An, one of Vietnam's most charming towns. Known for its beautifully preserved Ancient Town, Hoi An is a UNESCO World Heritage site and offers a delightful mix of history, culture, and food.
